After converting his convenience store to the SPAR format back in 2008, Conor McKibbin is confident he made the right decision – being part of our group has significantly enhanced his business.
A change for the best

Conor McKibbin thought long and hard about turning his shop into a SPAR store, but he hasn't looked back since. "The decision to move to a symbol group was not an easy one so I am absolutely delighted with how the business has been progressing since joining SPAR.
"The overall strength of the SPAR brand was very appealing to me as a retailer – SPAR is a global image, which is instantly recognised and trusted by customers, while an impressive ongoing marketing strategy means the brand retains this high profile. In such a competitive marketplace, knowing that SPAR advertisements are reaching our customers through leaflets, press, billboards, radio and TV is very reassuring.
"Where there are opportunities to drive sales for me, I feel I can trust that SPAR will help me maximise them," he says. "I suppose I could sum it up by saying there is a feeling of partnership with SPAR – rather than simply a retailer/ wholesaler relationship – and I'm glad to say the benefits of this partnership are tangible through footfall and sales."
