- 4 pears
- 32g (1oz) light brown sugar
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 10g (½oz) butter
- 80ml 2¾fl oz) water
Method
- Peel pears (the skin becomes tough if cooked), then cut them in half lengthways and remove the cores. Set aside.
- In a large skillet, over a low to medium flame, combine the butter, nutmeg, cinnamon and brown sugar. Drizzle in the water as the butter melts.
- When the mixture covers the bottom of the pan, add the pears, cut side down.
- Grill until the pears are tender, about 10 minutes. Serve with a little natural yoghurt or creme fraiche.
