Cooking a meal for your loved one means more than taking them out to a restaurant – it’s a lot more intimate, for a start.

You may be having a meal at home, but act as if your dining room is a fancy restaurant – come well groomed and dressed to impress.
What's on the menu?
You may have a good idea of your loved one’s tastes if you’ve invited them round for dinner, but even if their favourite meal is a bacon sandwich, now’s the time to make a bit more effort. Choose dishes that aren’t too difficult to eat – spaghetti, although delicious, is a no-no as it’s impossible to eat without getting sauce down your chin; likewise any fish that you have to shell at the table, or anything that’s heavy on the garlic or onions(!). You also don’t want anything so rich that you’ll both feel too stuffed to move afterwards. Including known aphrodisiac ingredients such as oysters, chocolate and strawberries may help to get the evening going...
