Travel writer, actor and adventurer, Charley walked into Simon’s kitchen with his crash helmet still on, and admitted that he doesn’t do much cooking.

The hungry traveller

Best known for his motorcycle trips around the world, from London to New York via Europe and Asia with film-star buddy Ewan McGregor, and more recently from Sydney, Australia up the coast to New South Wales where he was joined by an enormous cavalcade of other motorbikes, Charley likes to keep meals quick and simple.

Charley learned the recipe for Indonesian Style Fried Rice (Nasi Goreng) on his travels and it became one of his favourites. “I picked up the Nasi Goreng recipe last year in Bali... The good thing about Nasi Goreng is you can put anything in it. You can use any leftover meat or vegetables depending on what you have in your fridge. If you don’t have Indonesian soy sauce, Chinese works just as well. I especially like adding the fried egg on top of the rice.”
