As one of Britain’s finest 400m runners, Iwan Thomas likes to do things fast, and that includes food!

Former European Champion, Commonwealth Champion and current British Record Holder Iwan has a guilty secret – he used to hold a McDonald’s Platinum card, which entitled him to free food at the Golden Arches, but now he's happy putting meals together if it doesn’t take long...
“I love spicy food, especially Asian cuisine such as this recipe (Tom Yum Soup) – it’s a really good cuisine to cook as everything’s so quick and easy and it all has bags of flavour,” says Iwan. He also admits that he’d never taken part in any athletics until he was 16, when he amazed friends by breaking the school record for the long jump on his first attempt.
Immediately afterwards he had to compete in the 400 metres, and his headmaster told him it was impossible he’d finish, let alone win – but he did, and a couple of years later was running for his country.
