Thirteen British medallists from our record-breaking medal haul at the European Athletics Championships in Barcelona will be displaying their skills against the world's top athletes at the London Grand Prix at Crystal Palace on 13th-14th August.

European gold medal-winning triple jumper Philips Idowu and 5000m and 10000m gold medallist Mo Farah have confirmed they’ll be competing, with Farah hoping for a repeat of last year's competition when he won the gold in the 5000m.

SPAR's athletics ambassador and European bronze medallist Jenny Meadows will also be taking part and is eager to improve on her bronze.

Friday night will be the one of the main attractions of the event with the men’s 100m, although Asafa Powell has just pulled out due to injury. Last year at the sell-out event, we saw Usain Bolt dominate the 100m with a sub-ten time.

In the women’s 100m, Carmelita Jeter will look to put on a showcase performance, and Allyson Felix is another American to keep an eye on as the three-time world champion competes in both the 200m and 400m.

In the field, high jumper Blanka Vlasic will be the one to watch as she continues her attempt to break the world record of 2.09m; she is currently in the best form of her life and looks likely to break the world record.

Olympic medallists Roger Black, Jason Gardener, John Regis and Iwan Thomas will all be competing against one another in a head-to-head relay race on Saturday.

The London Grand Prix comprises more IAAF Diamond League disciplines than any other event on the world circuit, and the UK is one of three countries to hold two events over the season, tomorrow's Grand Prix is the second following July's Grand Prix in Gateshead.

TV coverage of the event will be on BBC 2 on Friday 13th August from 13.00-14.30, and from 18:00-21:00 on BBC 1 on Saturday 14th August.
