CHILDREN 1ST is the working name of the Royal Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, which for over 125 years has been working to give every child in Scotland a safe and secure childhood.

CHILDREN 1ST supports families under stress, protects children from harm and neglect, helps them recover from abuse and promotes children’s rights and interests.
CHILDREN 1ST provides services that:
Help children recover from the trauma of abuse
Give children a supportive adult to listen to their worries
Bring families together to find solutions to keep their children safe and resolve problems
Use play, art and drama to help children find a way to understand their sadness, anger and distress
Support parents to give the best possible care to their children
Give support and information to help young people make informed and safe choices for their future
Make sure children’s voices are heard in decisions that affect them
