Since 1996, SPAR has been the principal sponsor of the European Athletics Association. This means that SPAR is seen across the world on competitor's bibs, at the start line and on perimeter boards at many different events.

Millions of viewers witness our commitment to supporting top sporting events and athletes. Our current sponsorship includes sponsorship of the March 07 European Indoor Championships at the NIA, Birmingham.

SPAR Sprints Initiative

With the 2012 London Olympics just over the horizon, we're doing our bit to nurture the UK's next generation of elite sprinters and hurdlers. The SPAR Sprints Initiative aims to increase young people's participation in athletics while improving the current coaching and development structure.

The Sprints Initiative focuses on quality coaching programmes designed to improve young athletes' running form, posture, technique, agility, fitness and overall performance.

School sports days

SPAR retailers, over 70% of whom already support their local schools, are issuing athletics kits to community schools and youth sports clubs.

Each kit has the elements a school needs to put on a really professional sports day.  The kits contain numbers for every child to wear, posters for around the school, certificate templates for the winners, as well as finish tapes and a giant welcome banner.



Over 4000 kits have been issued since we launched the initiative in 2004.  That means that well over ¼ million school kids have benefited.
