SPAR Scotland is celebrating the success of its new food-to-go brand, CJ’s, in 65 stores with 110  celebration cakes being delivered to all company owned SPAR stores, warehouse and head office staff at the Dundee depot.

CJ’s is the over-arching food-to-go brand which sits alongside other food-to-go brands in SPAR Scotland stores. The food-to-go rollout programme also includes a hot breakfast and lunch offer along with support from local bakers for a range of rolls, cakes, sweet treats and hot savouries too.

Sixty-five stores now offer CJ’s and the rollout to the remaining 43 SPAR Scotland stores continues at pace and should be completed in all 107 company stores later this year.

Stephen Brown, Head of Food to Go at SPAR Scotland said: “We are delighted our customers have responded so well and supported our new food-to-go brand CJ’s. The rollout has been fantastic and last week stores hit record breaking sales well ahead of target. As a token of our appreciation and in recognition of everyone’s hard work, we are sending celebration cakes to say thank you to our warehouse and head office teams in Dundee and all our company owned stores.”

SPAR Scotland is proud to work in partnership with the very best of food and drink businesses from around the UK and indeed the world including Costa Coffee, F’real Milkshakes, Rollover Hotdogs, Kepak, Dunkin Donuts, Greencore, Tango, Skwishee and CSM.

Local bakery suppliers too have all helped to support the rollout. McGhees, Ashers, JG Ross, Stuarts, and Browning's, are well known in the communities where the stores are situated and working with each store to provide a local service.

“We will continue to adapt our menus and develop our food-to-go offer to give our customers great products and choice. Food-to-go is one of the fastest growing categories within our business and by making this huge investment we are confident SPAR Scotland will continue to lead in the convenience sector,” added Brown.
