Charity SPAR Scotland donates £2,500 to local Aviemore charity ahead of 2025 Tradeshow

SPAR Scotland has reinforced its commitment to supporting local communities by donating £2,500 to Badenoch and Strathspey Community ConnXions (BSCC), a local not-for-profit based in Aviemore. The cheque presentation took place in June, ahead of SPAR Scotland’s flagship Tradeshow, Conference and Awards, which returns to Aviemore for the fourth consecutive year on 25th September 2025.

The annual Tradeshow – the biggest retail convenience event in Scotland – attracts 850 delegates from across the country, including SPAR retailers, store managers, and leading suppliers. By returning year after year to the stunning Highlands setting, SPAR Scotland is proud to invest in and give back to the local community that has become home to this industry leading event.

Paula Middleton, Head of Marketing at SPAR Scotland, said:

“Supporting local communities is at the heart of what we do, and we want to give something back to Aviemore and the wider area, which has welcomed us so warmly for the last four years. Badenoch and Strathspey Community ConnXions plays an essential role in improving people’s lives in this area, and we are proud to support the brilliant work they do.”

Badenoch and Strathspey Community ConnXions (BSCC) is an award-winning organisation dedicated to helping people in the region stay connected, independent and engaged with their communities. For over 25 years, BSCC has been removing barriers to participation through a range of services including community transport, befriending, green health initiatives, and door-to-door assisted shopping. With a small team of employees and supported by more than 60 trained volunteers, BSCC partners with public and third-sector organisations to deliver its mission of helping people get where they want and need to go.

Donald Hall, CEO at Badenoch and Strathspey Community ConnXions, said:

“We are incredibly grateful to SPAR Scotland for this generous donation. As a small organisation, support like this makes a real difference in helping us deliver vital services to the local people of Badenoch and Strathspey. It’s heartening to see a national convenience brand giving back to the local community, and we are proud to be part of this ongoing relationship with SPAR Scotland.”

The 2025 SPAR Scotland Tradeshow, Conference and Awards, themed ‘Inspiring Success’, aims to motivate attendees to unlock their full potential and explore new opportunities through innovation, systems, technology and NPD. Once again held in Aviemore, the event offers a valuable platform for independent retailers, store managers, and suppliers operating in the Scottish convenience sector to connect, share ideas and discover the latest industry developments.
