Hot Toddy and Toffee Apples

There’s nothing like a warming blend of whisky and honey to keep the cold out. Pair a hot toddy with the tangy bite and caramel crunch of a toffee apple. They’re a match made in Bonfire Night heaven!

Here’s how to make them:

Hot Toddy for 2:

·       Simply mix 50ml of whisky with 3 tsp honey and cloves in a cup or glass, top with boiling water and stir until the mixture is perfectly blended.

Toffee apples:

·       Stick skewers into washed apples, then make a toffee mix by boiling demerara sugar, butter, golden syrup, water, and a splash of cider vinegar. Dip each apple into the hot toffee, spooning over if needed, and let them set on a lined tray. Perfect for Bonfire Night snacking!

Mexican Hot Chocolate and Chilli Con Carne

When it comes to winter warmers, chilli con carne is a fiery favourite that never disappoints. Served with steaming hot rice, it’s the perfect Bonfire Night crowd-pleaser. Pair it with a Mexican hot chocolate - a spicy twist on a classic that’ll keep everyone toasty from the inside out.

Pumpkin Spice Latte and Pulled Pork Sliders

Nothing says autumn like the rich, earthy taste of pumpkins – especially when it’s in the form of a pumpkin spiced coffee topped with cream. Pair it with delicious, tender pulled pork and you’ve got a combo that’s cosy and seriously satisfying.

How to make them:

Pumpkin Spice Latte

·       Heat up milk (of your choice), pumpkin purée and sugar in a saucepan. Once the mixture is boiling nicely, throw in some vanilla extract, pumpkin pie spices and coffee granules. Serve your mixture and add some squirty cream as a nice topper.

Pulled Pork Sliders

·       For fuss-free pulled pork sliders try SPAR’s slow cooked pulled pork. Already marinated to perfection, just heat it up in the microwave or oven, pile it into a soft bap, and you’re good to go. No prep, all taste - Bonfire Night sorted
