SPAR UK Celebrates 14 Wins at 2025 Retail Industry Awards

An award winning night for SPAR UK

SPAR UK was recognised for excellence in convenience, community, and innovation at the 2025 Retail Industry Awards held on the 30th September, taking home 14 awards that highlight the brand’s commitment to convenience, innovation, and community service across the UK.

From forecourt excellence and chilled food innovation to outstanding store teams and post office services, SPAR retailers were recognised for delivering best-in-class experiences to shoppers nationwide.

Among the standout winners was SPAR Parkfoot in West Malling, Kent, a third-generation family business that earned both Forecourt Retailer of the Year and Independent Retailer of the Year. Known for its fresh food offer, sustainability focus, and the popular Parkfoot Eats kitchen, the store continues to serve as a community hub.

Also taking home two awards was McCammond SPAR Abbots Cross in Newtownabbey, Co Antrim, which won Most Improved Store and Post Office Retailer of the Year. Sisters Becky and Lucy McCammond led a £620,000 transformation, revitalising the store and boosting local pride.

Henderson Retail Leads the Way in Northern Ireland

With seven awards, including the coveted Convenience Retailer of the Year, Henderson Retail was a major winner. Operating 112 stores across Northern Ireland and employing over 4,000 people, the group impressed judges with its data-driven approach and bold investment strategy.

One of Henderson's flagship stores, SPAR Malone Road earned multiple accolades, including Forecourt Retailer of the Year, Post Office Retailer of the Year, and Store Team of the Year. Store Manager, Samuel McCann was named Store Manager of the Year for his leadership and vision.

Other SPAR stores that won awards on the night were:

  • SPAR The Old Dairy, Truro, Cornwall was named Food-to-go Retailer of the Year for its standout grab-and-go offer.
  • SPAR Hawtree & Sons, West Stour, Dorset won Forecourt Retailer of the Year (over 3,001sqft) for its blend of commercial success and community engagement.
  • SPAR Monaghan Road, Armagh, Co Armagh was crowned Chilled Retailer of the Year for its fresh food proposition and investment in refrigeration.
