Bringing summer’s favourite into the realm of Christmas cocktails, Christmas Sangria brings everyone together with its winter twist on the Spanish favourite – ginger ale. The warm fizz of the ginger ale combined with the fresh fruits and juices makes this Christmas cocktail recipe a firm favourite for any party or get together this season.
Ingredients: (serves 4)
- 1 bottle of dry white wine
- 1 pomegranate
- 2 oranges, sliced thin
- 170g cranberries
- 1 cup pomegranate juice
- 2 cups ginger ale or club soda
Combine white wine, pomegranate arils, orange slices, cranberries and pomegranate juice into a large pitcher. Chill for at least one hour, before stirring in the ginger ale and serving up.
Slice the pomegranate into quarters and soak in a bowl of water before removing the pith from the skin, and then the arils from the pith. The water makes removing them much easier, as they will sink to the bottom, leaving the pith at the top.
