The Christmas cocktail classic, no list of winter cocktails would be complete without mulled wine. The warm and sweet take on your favourite red wine is the ideal Christmas cocktail for big get-togethers with family and friends – as it’s super easy to make, and complements mince pies perfectly.
Ingredients: (serves 4)
- 1 bottle of SPAR Tempranillo
- 60g demerara sugar
- 3-6 cinnamon sticks
- Grated nutmeg
- 1 orange (halved)
- 1 dried bay leaf
Method: Pour the wine in a saucepan with the orange, sugar, bayleaf, cinnamon and nutmeg. Heat gently until the sugar has dissolved, and taste for sweetness. Add more sugar if required, before straining into a heatproof glass or mug.
Tip: Double your mixture if you’ve got more guests, and be sure to have a plate of Christmas treats to pass around to partner with your sweet and spiced Christmas cocktail.
