A look back at last year’s Central England and Wales Community Cashback grant winners

As we prepare to launch our 2026 Community Cashback grant scheme, we’ve taken a moment to revisit some of last year’s recipients and explore how the funding has helped them make a meaningful difference in their local communities.

Sense Hub Denbigh

Sense, a disability charity based in North Wales were awarded a top grant of £10,000 in SPAR’s Community Cashback 2025 grant scheme. They support children and adults who are deafblind or have complex disabilities. Their Denbigh hub is one of more than twenty-day services operating across the UK. In 2024 alone, Sense supported over 32,000 people and their families through its wide range of services, a testament to the vital role the charity plays in communities nationwide.

“Everyone at the hub is delighted with how the project has gone, it’s significantly improved the garden space. In previous summers during the periods of hot weather, the space has been almost impossible to use because of no shade. The shelter will now give safe and accessible access all year round and it will mean so much to the disabled individuals we support to be outdoors and enjoying the environment”.
