Original 106 took its award-winning Breakfast Show out into the community with a special live broadcast from SPAR Kincorth in Aberdeen on Tuesday 30th June.
Listeners were invited to join Claire and Pete as they broadcast live from the store, bringing all the fun, music, local conversation and competitions that have made Original 106 the North East's favourite breakfast show directly to the heart of the Kincorth community. The station is recognised as one of the region's leading commercial radio stations, with its breakfast programme enjoying strong local support.
The broadcast highlights SPAR Kincorth's commitment to supporting the local community while celebrating the people, businesses and organisations that make Kincorth such a vibrant part of Aberdeen.
To celebrate the event and encourage customers to discover the benefits of the Barista Bar Loyalty App, the first 50 customers received a voucher for a free breakfast roll and a Barista Bar hot drink. The initiative gave customers the opportunity to enjoy SPAR's freshly prepared breakfast offering while introducing them to the rewards and exclusive offers available through the loyalty app.
As part of the event, SPAR Kincorth demonstrated its commitment to supporting the local community by donating £200 worth of SPAR vouchers to the local foodbank. The vouchers topped up the products that were piled into trollies by Claire and Pete who did a supermarket sweep race around the store. The donation will help the foodbank purchase essential items to support individuals and families experiencing hardship across the area.
In addition to this Champion Street Football received a £500 donation. The contribution will help the organisation continue its outstanding work, using football as a tool to engage, inspire and support people within the local community.
