SPAR Scotland and Healthy Living Programme Strengthen Partnership with Launch of Dual-Branded Healthy Living Stands

New in-store initiative makes healthier choices easier for customers across Scotland

SPAR Scotland and the Healthy Living Programme (HLP) are strengthening their long-standing partnership with the introduction of new dual-branded Healthy Living stands and point-of-sale (POS) materials across participating SPAR Scotland stores.

The new initiative has been designed to make healthier food and drink options more visible and accessible for shoppers, encouraging customers to make informed choices while reinforcing both organisations' shared commitment to improving public health in local communities.

The dual-branded stands will prominently highlight healthier products in-store, supported by eye-catching POS materials. The initiative forms part of SPAR Scotland's wider commitment to creating healthier retail environments while supporting the Scottish Government's ambitions to improve the nation's diet and wellbeing.

The launch builds on a successful partnership between SPAR Scotland and the Healthy Living Programme that has delivered a range of community-focused initiatives over the years, including Healthy Living Weeks, free fruit giveaways, school engagement activities, breakfast clubs and in-store educational events. Together, these programmes have helped thousands of children and families across Scotland develop healthier eating habits while demonstrating the positive role convenience retailers can play in supporting community health.

The introduction of the dual-branded displays represents the next stage in the partnership, providing stores with dedicated merchandising solutions that make healthier choices more prominent throughout the customer journey.

Colin McLean, Chief Executive of SPAR Scotland, said: "Our partnership with the Healthy Living Programme has always been about making healthier choices easier for our customers. These new dual-branded Healthy Living stands, and point-of-sale materials are another important step in helping shoppers quickly identify healthier options while demonstrating how convenience retailers can positively influence purchasing decisions.

"We're proud to continue working alongside the Healthy Living Programme to support healthier communities across Scotland."

Kathryn Neil, Programme Director of the Healthy Living Programme, said: "SPAR Scotland has been an outstanding partner in helping us bring healthier choices to communities across Scotland. The introduction of these dual-branded displays creates an engaging in-store environment that encourages healthier purchasing decisions while supporting retailers in promoting nutritious and affordable products.

"Together, we're making healthy choices more visible, accessible and achievable for customers every day."

In addition to the new merchandising initiative, SPAR Scotland continues to support the Healthy Living Programme through community outreach, educational campaigns and in-store activities that encourage healthier lifestyles for people of all ages.

By combining engaging community programmes with innovative in-store merchandising, SPAR Scotland and the Healthy Living Programme are demonstrating how retailers can play an important role in creating healthier communities and supporting long-term behaviour change.
