Honey & Cinnamon Baked Royal Gala Apples
There’s something timeless about baked apple – and this recipe is a celebration of simplicity done right. Gently baked with golden honey, warm cinnamon, and a splash of vanilla, these apples soften into tender slices that are rich with natural sweetness and comforting spice. A drizzle of melted butter adds a touch of indulgence, while a squeeze of lemon keeps the flavours bright and balanced.

What you'll need:
- 4 Royal Gala apples, cored and sliced
- 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp lemon juice (to keep apples fresh and bright)
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- A handful of chopped walnuts or almonds (optional)
- Optional: Serve with yogurt, ice cream, or granola
Method:
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F)
- Core and slice the apples into wedges
- Toss them in a bowl with lemon juice, honey, cinnamon, and vanilla extract
- Place the apples in a baking dish, drizzle with melted butter, and sprinkle with nuts (optional)
- After 10 minutes give them a quick stir
- Roast for a further 10-15 minutes until soft and caramelized
- Serve warm with yogurt, ice cream
