Community Cashback FAQs

Can I apply if the organisation is based in Northern Ireland?

Yes, you can. To apply for a charity or organisation based in Northern Ireland please visit the SPAR NI website: https://www.spar-ni.co.uk/community/community-cashback-grant/

I can’t see Wales on the regional breakdown. Can I apply for an organisation based in Wales?

Yes, you can. In the section marked ‘Region’ please select ‘Central + South East England & Wales’.

Note: The regional split is based on the set up of the 5 regional hubs we have at SPAR. The regional hub that manages stores in Wales is also responsible for Central + South East England which is why it’s in this subgroup.

Can I amend my application?

Unfortunately, you cannot, however you can submit a second application. Once you’re happy with your application, please email communitycashback@spar.co.uk advising that you would like your old application to be removed. This will ensure that your updated application is the one submitted for shortlisting purposes.

I’m not sure which category my charity/organisation would be classed as. Does that mean I’m not eligible to apply?

If you’re not sure which category is appropriate you can select ‘other’. For more details around eligibility please review the full terms and conditions.

If I apply more than once or get others to apply as well, am I more likely to be awarded a grant?

Unfortunately, this isn’t the case. Only one application from an organisation will be considered for shortlisting so the recommendation would be for someone who knows the detail of how funding will be used to complete the application.

When I hit submit, I keep getting taken back to the application page and don’t get a message to confirm my application has been received, why is this?

This might be because you haven’t completed all sections of the form. In the first instance please check that you’ve completed ‘Find nearest store’. After you enter your postcode, you need to select one of the store options that is displayed.

Shoppers from all over the UK can apply for a grant for an organisation or charity they feel deserves funding. All applicants need to do is share the exceptional contribution that a local organisation has made to their community and what the grant would be put towards. Applications now open.
