Air Ambulance NI awarded £10,000 as part of SPAR’s Community Cashback scheme
Air Ambulance NI has been chosen from over 1300 applicants in Northern Ireland to be awarded a £10,000 grant from SPAR, allowing the Lisburn based charity to respond to more accidents and provide prehospital critical care.
Air Ambulance NI bring the emergency room where it is needed most, whether that is at the roadside or in a farmyard, attending some of the most serious medical incidences across the country every day.
The SPAR Community Cashback campaign launched for a second year this April to provide funding to local charity organisations and give back to communities that need support the most. In total SPAR will have donated £100,000 across the UK on behalf of their shoppers.
As part of the campaign, SPAR commissioned a study of 2,000 adults acoss the UK to discover how people were giving back to their communities and found that nearly two thirds (61%) in Northern Ireland would like to volunteer in 2023, the highest amount in the UK - and one in five (21%) are desperate to give back to local causes in the near future. On average, volunteers in Northern Ireland spend 6.5 hours helping out local causes each month and 25% said they had started to help others more this year.
