Our Community Cashback grant applications have now closed and we're now in the process of reviewing them. It's been fantastic to see how many of you volunteer to support your local community.
The successful applicants for this year's Community Cashback will be contacted w/c 10th June and winners will be announced by the 20th.
Throughout the year SPAR UK have raised money for Marie Curie by fundraising for the Great Daffodil Appeal, Blooming Great Tea Party, Go Yellow, Scare to Show you Care, and many more events. This has allowed us to raise an amazing £3 Million for Marie Curie making a huge difference to those living with a terminal illness and their families.Â
In September 2023, we partnered with food redistribution charity FareShare UK to launch our new Nurture our Neighbourhood campaign, Giving One Million Meals.
We pledged a £250,000 donation to FareShare, enabling the charity to provide the equivalent of 1 million meals through the local charities they work with in our SPAR communities.
Tree Planting With The Tree Council
SPAR UK dedicated a day working with The Tree Council, taking part in their Trees Love Care campaign. This eco-friendly campaign consists of taking care of the newly planted trees, a great way to stay connected to the trees that have been planted.
This great initiative helps SPAR give back to communities and care for the environment.
SPAR stores join Coastal Clean-up initiative. Collaborating with Surfers Against Sewage (SAS), an environmental marine company who organise coastal clean ups, the Million Mile Clean is an initiative that brings communities together and cleans several miles of the coast.
We were thrilled to sponsor the Disability Sports Wales Insport event in Cardiff this past January! The day was filled with smiles, laughter, and plenty of fun sporting activities. Our dedicated SPAR staff enthusiastically joined in on the fun, volunteering alongside the sports instructors to ensure all 500+ children had a fantastic day! From adaptive sports to inclusive games, every child had the opportunity to experience the joy of physical activity. The event was a fantastic celebration of inclusivity and strong community spirit. We are extremely proud to have played a part in showcasing the power of sport and its ability to bring people together both locally, and nationally. It was a truly unforgettable day!
The Healthy Living Programme is here to support Scottish independent retailers offer healthy choices, increase sales and assist in the goal of achieving a healthy nation.
Here at SPARÂ we fund breakfast clubs for primary schools, with the healthy living team educating children about the importance of healthy breakfasts.
