Tsoureki from Greece
Tsoureki is a traditional Greek sweet bread, most commonly enjoyed during Easter celebrations. It's more than just a treat - it’s a symbol of life and resurrection! Braided and topped with a red egg, it’s a beautiful tradition to share with loved ones.
This delicious bread is known for its distinctive braided shape and its rich, slightly sweet flavour. The dough is typically infused with aromatic ingredients like mahleb (a spice made from cherry seeds) and mastic (a resin from the mastic tree), which give Tsoureki its unique taste and fragrance.

Torrijas are a beloved Spanish treat, particularly popular during Semana Santa (Holy Week), the week leading up to Easter.
Often compared to French toast, Torrijas are a delightful combination of sweet and spiced flavours, making them a perfect indulgence for this special time of year. Made with slices of stale bread, which are soaked in a mixture of milk, sugar, and cinnamon. Some variations also include a splash of wine or orange zest to add an extra layer of complexity.
Torrijas are traditionally enjoyed as a dessert or a special breakfast during Semana Santa and are often served with a cup of coffee or a glass of sweet wine, making them a versatile and delightful treat.

Also known as Easter Dove Cake, Colomba di Pasqua is a cherished Italian tradition that brings sweetness and joy to Easter celebrations. This iconic cake is shaped like a dove, symbolises peace and renewal, which are central themes of Easter.
The origins of Colomba di Pasqua date back to the early 20th century in Lombardy, where it was created as a counterpart to the popular Christmas Panettone. The dough for Colomba di Pasqua is similar to that of Panettone, enriched with butter, eggs, and sugar, resulting in a soft and fluffy texture. However, what sets Colomba di Pasqua apart is its unique shape and the delightful ingredients that adorn it.

Reindling is a traditional Austrian cake that holds a special place in the hearts of many, especially during Easter celebrations. Originating from the Carinthia region, this delightful Bundt cake is known for its rich, fragrant flavours and beautiful presentation.
The preparation of Reindling begins with a sweet yeast dough, which is rolled out and generously spread with a mixture of cinnamon, sugar, raisins, and walnuts. This filling not only adds sweetness but also a wonderful texture and warmth, making each bite a delightful experience. The dough is then rolled up, similar to a jelly roll, and placed in a Bundt pan to achieve its characteristic ring shape.
